KOWLOON HOUSE: AUTHENTIC AT ITS FINEST!

Wanna try some Authentic Cantonese Cuisine? With Excellent Service, Tradition of Good Taste and Affordable Price? Then let’s go to Kowloon House West Avenue branch. Kowloon House is known for their best dimsum and their super yummy Jumbo Pao (Siopao). There are many Kowloon House branches all over the metro but I choose the West Avenue branch because it’s so near in my house. Their West Avenue branch is actually divided into 3 segments, all with different entrance passages: First: The take-out counter (with drive-thru) where you can buy all variants of siopao, on the go. Attached to it is a casual non-air-conditioned dining area, known for its affordable beers. Second: The function hall, where private functions are usually held, set-menu is usually served. Third: Airconditioned Dining Room, where we dined.

Kowloon House West Avenue branch offers lunch and dinner buffets for only Php 295 including my super favourite bottomless iced tea (I’m a big fan of unlimited drinks). Kowloon House offer Seaweeds, Century Eggs (my least favorite), Sharksfin (I can eat 25 sharksfin in one meal), Pork Siomai (which have a unique taste) and their signature Kowloon Siopao.

Seaweeds, Century Eggs, Sharksfin, Pork Siomai and Kowloon Siopao.

It’s time for their Authentic Cantonese dishes.

Yangchow and Plain Rice

Brocolli and Taiwan Pechay

Chinese Style Fried Chicken and Lumpiang Shanghai

Kowloon House Stir Fried Noodles/ Lohon Vegetables

Steamed Fish Fillet with Bean Curd and Soy Sauce / Fragrant Chicken

Beef Tenderloin with Young Corn / Sweet and Sour Pork

Bacon Shrimp Roll / Pork Tausi Spareribs

The ambiance of the place is so calm. You don’t see people running around panicky and fighting for food. There are some people like that but majority of the people is calm getting their food since the waiters refill it from time to time. The place is not bad as well. The staff are friendly too and they keep your glass half full all the time. The foods?! Hmmm.. Some are so-so but some are tasty not bad for its price. For budget people wise this is one place you should put on your list. We are so going back to Kowloon House soon. Till next time.

ASIAN FOOD TRIP AT THE BUFFET ASIA RESTOBAR!

Being a student, it is really hard to find time to relax because of the paper works and busy schedule. That’s why my friends and I always find time to have a short break from our paper works and busy schedules; we give ourselves a break like eating in a buffet restaurant.  They searched in different buffet restaurants and they found this buffet restaurant in West Ave., Quezon City, the Buffet Asia.

At first, I’m not the type of person that eats a lot. I’m just contented with small amount of food, that’s why I know to myself that I won’t enjoy eating in a buffet restaurant. As I’ve observed, people enjoy eating in a buffet restaurant because they can eat the food that they want. And because of my friends’ influence, I’ve enjoyed eating in a buffet restaurant. So here is my experience in Buffet Asia.

The first person who discovered Buffet Asia is one of my closest friends. He just invited us to eat there. Buffet Asia is a buffet restaurant that allows its customers to take out of their leftovers, and I think you guys may like it especially to those people who easily get bloated. I think they did that to be their advantage among other buffet restaurants, because some of the buffet restaurants around Manila and Quezon City do not allow their customers to have leftovers. And if it happens that their customers have leftovers, they are pressured to pay twice the amount that they’ll be paying. For only Php 399 you can eat what you want from their buffet table, including bottomless drinks.

The Buffet Asia offers Filipino, Japanese, Korean; Vietnamese, Chinese and Thai Cuisines and I think you guys will like it.

As I’ve said, Buffet Asia offers Filipino Cuisines. They have Sinigang, Bicol Express, Menudo, Kare Kare and Adobo Rice. When I was there, I was not able to taste their Bicol Express, Menudo and Adobo Rice, but I was able to taste their Kare-Kare instead. I like their Kare-Kare and I think it really tastes good.

Next is the Japanese Cuisine. They have different kinds of Sushi. I really like California Maki to the bones, that’s why I consider it as one of my favourite dishes among all the dishes on their buffet table. I was the only one who enjoyed eating Makis among our group, and my friends have the Dynamite instead.

They also have Korean Cuisine. We all know that Koreans are fond of eating Kimchi, so Buffet Asia wants its customers to experience what Kimchi tastes like (they also have Kimchi Rice). Moreover, Buffet Asia also has Vietnamese, Chinese and Thai Cuisines. They have Creamy Veggies for the Chinese Cuisine and Yellow Curry for the Vietnamese Cuisine. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to taste all of the food on their buffet table.

Lastly, Buffet Asia also offers desserts that obviously all of us will like. They have different varieties of desserts on their buffet table. They have salads, chocolates and some sugar-coated stuff there. I like most of their desserts. It tastes great!

Aside from being a buffet restaurant, Buffet Asia is also a RestoBar. Buffet Asia is the only buffet restaurant to have an Acoustic Live Band Entertainment that happens every Friday and Saturday from 6:00 pm onwards. Given the fact that Buffet Asia is also a RestoBar, it also serves alcoholic beverages to its customers.

I think that’s all for this week guys. Hope you guys could find time to drop by and taste the different cuisines in Buffet Asia RestoBar at a very reasonable price! You can eat all you want for only Php 399! Or maybe have some alcoholic beverages and listen to their acoustic live band guests every Friday and Saturday. It’s definitely a perfect place to chill with your friends! Until next Saturday! Have a good day!
